In June of 2018 Dr. Andriy Domans’kyy participated in a clinical observership in orthopedic surgery at Grace Clinic of Lubbock, Texas.

Dr. Domans’kyy is an orthopedic trauma surgeon from Dnipro, Ukraine. He is an assistant professor within the Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology of the Dnipropetrovsk State Medical Academy, with a special interest in complex trauma of the upper extremity.

This rotation involved observation of patient care in the ambulatory setting, surgical interventions and hospital rounds. The organizational aspect of the diagnostic and treatment processes was an integral part of this program, which allowed the comparing of differences in daily workflow between the medical systems in United States and Ukraine.

Together with these clinical responsibilities, Dr. Domans’kyy had an opportunity to meet and confer with his professional counterparts and experience the United States firsthand with a Texas flair, learn about the American culture, professionalism within the medical field and develop closer relationships and mutual understanding between our two nations.
