The textbook for the ASSET+ (Advanced Surgical Skills for Exposure in Trauma) course by the American College of Surgeons has been published!

This book is a manual for a highly relevant practical surgical cadaver-based course for Ukraine, organized with the support of several non-governmental organizations.

ASSET+ holds exceptional value for military surgeons, as it is dedicated to advancing surgical skills essential for gaining access to vital vessels and organs in cases of trauma. It presents detailed algorithms for surgical interventions in extreme conditions, where outcomes depend on the speed and professionalism of the physician.

The course trains surgeons in operative exposures for life-threatening hemorrhages and in principles of critical injury control. It is valuable for both young specialists and experienced surgeons.

Course sections include:

• Vascular trauma: operative exposure for injuries to vessels of the upper and lower extremities
• Operative exposure in neck trauma
• Operative exposure in thoracic trauma
• Operative exposure in abdominal trauma
• Neurosurgical and orthopedic interventions based on damage control principles
• Amputations of upper and lower extremities

The translation of ASSET+ is one of the projects implemented by the tccc.org.ua team in coordination with the Ministry of Defense Health Department and Nash Format publishing house.

The book is not for sale — it is intended for a limited circle of specialists.

Distribution of printed copies will be carried out through the Ministry of Defense Health Department and the organizations involved in the development of the ASSET+ course in Ukraine.

The ASSET+ materials are available free of charge on the website tccc.org.ua and in the mobile application of the same name.
